Amiya Davis
Amiya Davis is a Senior Political Science major from Chicago, Illinois. She intends to start her career as a criminal prosecutor with later intentions of being a criminal defense attorney. After graduation, she plans on attending law school. Growing up, Amiya saw a lot of individuals who looked like her and were mistreated by the criminal justice system. She hopes to help reform the criminal justice system by adding to the world's 5% of African-American attorneys.

Porter Alexander Tynes, III
Porter Alexander Tynes, III is a Senior Business Management major with a double minor in Leadership Studies and Sociology from Memphis, Tennessee. After graduation, he plans on attending law school to become a real estate lawyer. His motivation for practicing real estate law is driven by his desire to make a meaningful impact in people's lives through their property-related endeavors. Porter recognizes that real estate is a fundamental aspect of society, encompassing both residential and commercial properties that play pivotal roles in individuals' lives and the broader economy. By pursuing a career in real estate law, he aims to be a trusted advocate and advisor to individuals, families, and businesses navigating the complex landscape of property transactions, leases, zoning regulations, and land-use issues.

Joshua Gandy
Joshua Gandy is a Junior Political Science major from Mobile, Alabama. He aspires to be a civil rights attorney or entertainment lawyer, eventually owning his own firm. After graduation, he plans to obtain his Juris Doctor and a Masters in Public Policy or Business. Joshua has witnessed firsthand people not being able to afford an efficient attorney. He wants to represent people in these positions and recruit others to do the same. What motivates Joshua is fighting for people’s rights and against the corrupt system. His interest in entertainment law stems from being involved in the band from a young age. Joshua also hopes to start a mentorship program for young black students in his community to fulfill his passion for working with children.

Kayla Roddey
Kayla Roddey is a Senior Political Science major from Charlotte, North Carolina. Kayla aspires to explore sports law, policy, and lobbying – with the ultimate goal of serving on the bench. After graduation, she plans to engage in experiences that assist in helping her figure out her exact area of interest. She will also enter the law school application cycle in August 2024 to obtain her Juris Doctor. Kayla grew up in one of the most segregated school systems in the country, and seeing firsthand how one’s zip code can determine the quality of an individual's school and educational experience fueled her passion for equity through law. She also loves that law is immersed in every aspect of society and believes that knowing and understanding it is a powerful tool when navigating life.

Aaliah Aigbehinmua is a Junior Political Science major from London, United Kingdom. Aaliah aspires to pursue a professional career in Corporate Law and Business. After graduation, she plans to attend law school to obtain her Juris Doctor. Aaliah asserts that meeting and interacting with distinct individuals working in various areas of law demonstrates the law's wide-ranging nature and its precedence and importance in society. As an individual interested in both business and law, the potential to do what she is passionate about from every vantage point is what motivates her to pursue it as a career.

Kyndal S. Benn
Kyndal Benn is a Senior Political Science major and Spanish minor from Marietta, Georgia. She aspires to become a social justice lawyer. After graduation, Kyndal plans to attend law school and become well equipped in various areas of law. As a black woman, she understands the importance of advocating for the community and wants to speak up for those who are unable to do so themselves.

Ryann Rippey
Ryann Rippey is a Senior Political Science major from Dayton, Ohio. Ryann aspires to work in Entertainment Law and Public Policy. After graduation, she plans to attend the Howard University School of Law. Ryann recognizes that in a nation created on the backs of African American ancestry, young Black girls are often told what they cannot do. Yet Black women have been breaking the glass ceiling in law and politics for centuries. Her motivation for pursuing law is to continue the representation in the U.S. government for Black women and people to break through glass ceilings, advance communities, and pour into her passion.

Ivoryana Neal
Ivoryana Neal is a Junior Political Science major from Chicago, Illinois. Ivoryana aspires to be a Criminal Defense Attorney. After graduation, she plans to attend Law School and dedicate her time to youth within her neighborhood. Ivoryana’s passion for wanting to help people stems from watching those around her be placed in a reoccurring unjust legal system, losing friends to senseless gun violence, and understanding that mental health is important in young people. Her drive stems from life’s experiences that have shaped who she is and is pursuing to be.

Mya Whiles is a Senior Political Science major from Westampton, New Jersey. Mya aspires to be a civil rights attorney. After graduation, she plans to take a gap year and gain meaningful work experience related to civil rights and social justice before applying to law school. Her motivation for pursuing law is to enact equitable change in the justice system and represent those who may not have a voice otherwise.

Kendall Young
Kendell Young is a Sophomore Political Science major and Environmental Studies minor from Atlanta, Georgia. She aspires to become an environmental policy analyst or lawyer to lead people in the environmental policy sphere to alleviate the Black and Brown communities' ecological marginalization. After graduation, she plans to attend law school in either Los Angeles, CA, or Washington, D.C. Her interest in law sparked from her high school AP Government class, where she first learned of environmental racism and its effect on her community. Seeing the place she grew up in be an example of such a prevalent issue gave her the light to see her passion for something she once never knew about.

Brittany Mahone is a Junior Political Science major from Columbus, Georgia. She aspires to become an attorney specializing in the field of family law. After graduation, she plans to attend law school. Brittany wants to use her job to speak up for those who are unable to speak up for themselves. She wants to fight for others and give others a fighting chance. She plans to use her platform to create and promote change that will lead the world to becoming a more equalized society.

Kennedy Johnson
Kennedy Johnson is a Junior Political Science major from The Bronx, New York. Kennedy aspires to become a corporate attorney. After graduation, he plans to attend law school to complete a dual degree program where he’ll obtain his Juris Doctor and Masters of Business Administration. His motivation for pursuing law derives from seeing the disparities African Americans face in terms of equity and the small portion of people in society who are both Black and lawyers. He wants to pursue law to not only inspire others, but make an impactful change within the field.

Jordyn Curry is a Junior Political Science major from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She aspires to become a Sports and Entertainment Lawyer. After graduation, she hopes to get accepted into a top law school program. The murder of George Floyd and following movements sparked a passion for social justice within Black and Brown communities for Jordyn. She’s always been driven by a strong sense of justice and her desire to make a positive change within her community. Going into the legal profession allows her to advocate for fairness, equality, and law for our most vulnerable communities.

Tyler Dorsey
Tyler Dorsey is a Sophomore English major from Atlanta, Georgia. Tyler is interested in learning more about a career as a sports attorney, corporate attorney, and civil rights attorney. After graduation, she would like to attend law school but is also open to taking some time to develop professional, legal, or corporate skills before starting 1L. Tyler wants to pursue law because she is intrigued by the idea of fixing and solving problems and cases. She aims to work towards bettering the lives of others, whether through merging companies, constructing a contract, or starting a business. Being able to think critically, problem-solve, and close cases are just some of the things that Tyler looks forward to as she begins her legal journey.

After graduation, she plans to attend law school to complete a dual degree program where she will receive her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration. Sydney has always been interested in the arts and entertainment industry and aims to coincide with her passion for advocating, uplifting, and highlighting the black community.
